It is a pleasure for us to announce that the Financial Literacy Program is back this year. Following the success of the first edition last year, in which 449 factory workers successfully completed a two months training , after which they received a certificate, Sol Kom Yo has teamed up again with the training department of CODEVI to launch a new edition of the financial literacy course. This year, the first target group will be
a group of approximately 350 supervisors and workers in charge quality control. Those workers will have the opportunity to come to selected conference rooms of the CODEVI free trade zone and will be divided in group of approximately 25 learners. Like last year, the financial education course will include classroom training about money saving strategies, good management of the family budget, and methods to properly identify priorities in terms of expenses. The workers completing the various phases of the program will be rewarded with some vouchers redeemable for cash or they’ll have the option to deposit them into their savings account in CODEVI. The participant will have the opportunity to meet individually with a coach to help them resolve the practical exercises on how to manage their finances better. The new edition of the course was officially launched on Saturday March 21st 2015, when a group of 26 CODEVI workers took part in a three hour training session led by Bob Leon, who was one of the coaches who was also part of the program last year.
